BIOGRAPHY

Singer, songwriter, writer

His music fuses folk, rock and pop with rhythms of clear Latin American roots and lyrics on universal and autobiographical themes through whose vocabulary we can glimpse Rio de la Plata and Buenos Aires city origin.

Born in Argentina, Ale Zar grew up writing stories and singing melodies he didn’t know he was actually creating. At a time when he listened to a lot of different styles of music he wanted to create new melodies and lyrics as those artists he admired did. He loved to make harmonies to other voices and sang a lot with her sister making a duet, covering 90’s songs.

During his adolescence and while he was already writing his own music, he was part of classical and popular music choirs.

At the age of 22 he formed the rock-pop band "Rapzodas" and recorded an album of 8 songs while playing live in clubs and bars in Buenos Aires. The name of the album was taken from a song called "Vespertine Rocket" and was released in 2009.

Rapzodas project ended in late 2012. That same year he was already part of another band called “Cósmico Macedonio”, a trio conformed with songs by the three members, their music explored different genres and styles such as candombe, brazilian rhythms, some elements of jazz and Argentine folklore.

In November 2014 he released his first album "La columna solar" ("Solar column"). Composed of 12 songs of his authorship. The general concept of the album and the lyrics arose from several references to the work of Frida Khalo.

One of the tracks of the album, "Espina prehistórica o Esperar" ("Prehistoric Spine or To Wait") was chosen by Lisandro Aristimuño for his project "Music Without Profits", volume of February 2015.

Also, in 2014, he recorded as a core musician in the band Dolores Mazzoni and the Cuarto Menguante for the album "Punto de imaginación" (Point of imagination), recorded in Casa Frida.

In October 2015, Ale Zar was a finalist in the First Contest of Vocalists of Big Bands in Buenos Aires.

After completing his studies in Communication Sciences, he wrote his thesis "Music and word: relations between melody and lyrics in popular song".

During 2016 and so far in 2017, it was presented live in different park’s “healthy recesses” of the city in the framework of the "Bandas x Barrios" project.

On March 8, 2017 he released a "single" of his authorship called "Las calles son nuestras” ("Streets are ours"), song that addresses the issue of gender violence.

At the end of March 2017, the National Institute of Music (INAMU, Argentina) selected "The solar column" to edit in physical version this disc that was formerly released only on virtual platforms.

In 2019 he released his latest album "Todo lo que tenía claro" (Everything I was certain about) produced with Yacaré Manso, mixed and mastered by Tatu Estela.

Currently, new songs are ready to be recorded in 2020!

All the music of Ale Zar is available on Spotify, Amazon, iTunes, Bandcamp, YouTube and many more virtual stores.
